In a very interesting move, Oracle Corporation  has made one of its CRM applications available on the Blackberry mobile phone. They are calling the product Mobile Sales Assistant, and it is aimed squarely at getting sales and inventory data instantly into the hands of sales personnel in the field. It is being deployed as part of its CRM On Demand series of products.

Mobile Sales Assistant contains functionality assisting sales personnel to work with other team members, manage appointments, and stay in contact with customers. The sales rep in the field can easily navigate through and view sales team information and customer contact information. The phone can be used in conjunction with the CRM software, which is Java-based, to talk or text with other team members, and even to get driving directs to their next call.

The product is available for a variety of Blackberry models, over an above the basic Oracle CRM software on corporate servers. It is priced at $30 per user per month. The software is said to be easy to deploy and known to be without additional setup fees. The mobile software is flexible enough to store the information on either the phone, or transfer it back to the company’s servers.
