On Windows the application you will need is called GMail Drive. Using this program mounts drive called GMail Drive in Windows Explorer. You then can add office documents, zip files, images, and mp3s. There is a 10MB per file limit. If you are using sensitive data that you wouldn't want any one want to see, then this might not be the solution. Unless you used another service like Pretty Good Privacy to encrypt your data then post it on your Gmail Drive.
The Mac OS X application is called gDisk . While the Linux eliqulent is either Gmail FS or PHP Gmail Drive.
I recommend using this service for a quick backup for a current project, but I wouldn't use this as my main back up.
