You can set up an account and start using it within 2 minutes. If you can use web based email, than using box.net should be no problem.
Box.net starts you out with 1 GB of free online storage space. You can upgrade to 5 GB for $4.99 a month or 15 GB for $9.99 a month. You also get a free upgrade for having 5 friends sign up.
I was looking at Box.net as a back up software solution. It turns out that Box.net is not built for that. Box.net is more an internet portal for your information. Box.net is perfect for sharing information with other users or linking documents to your blog at another site. You could as a back up software solution, but it could get very time consuming uploading one file at a time. I do not recommend Box.net for your primary back up solution.
