If Apple was going to roll out an adoption to Windows why would they continue to have a market campaign to get users to switch to Apple Mac OS X? Apple is not going to adopt Windows, users wanted to try to run Windows on an Apple, and Apple let them with boot camp. Apple realized that they couldn't fight the users on this, so they encouraged it. It allowed non Apple Users to buy Macs, to see if they could get Windows to load.
My prediction is that Apple is working on a solution that Windows applications will run in Mac OS X in a protected environment, like Mac OS 9, "Classic" did on Apple's PPC chips. Although I'm curious to see if Microsoft will release a faster version of Virtual PC for the Mac OS X before then. I just don't believe Steve Jobs will direct Apple to switch over to Windows, because he likes to design the hardware and the software together, so he knows that they will work well together.
